Unfortunately, while many people start with a small weight gain (just a few pounds in a year), this small weight gain often leads to more. As the pounds creep on, your overall level of health goes down. As your weight goes up, you will find it difficult to get dressed each day, and will spend most of your days feeling uncomfortable in your body and unhappy with the way your clothes fit. Of course, the alternative to this is to buy new clothes, but this is not something most of us can afford to do each time our weight changes.
A fourth sign you may need to lose weight is when you find that simple tasks or daily behaviors- like walking up a flight of stairs, or sitting on the floor have become more difficult. While getting out of breath from from simple activities may not necessarily be just about a weight problem, being overweight does make these simple activites much more difficult. When you lose even just a little bit of weight- we’re talking 5 or 10 lbs- even this little bit of weight loss will improve your health and ability to do the normal activities of life. You’ll be able to walk easier, breathe easier, and to play with your children or grandchildren. You’ll also have more energy, will feel more confident, your clothes will fit better, and you’ll feel more in control of your body and yourself.
