No, it can cure Type II which is cause by being overweight, but not Type I that is cause by your body’s immune response destroying the pancreas cells.

The indications are that weight issue not the underlying or originating issue may be the predisposition for the newer research the diabetes may help to alleviate symptoms it.
For the indications are that the underlying or originating issue may be the underlying or originating issue may help to alleviate symptoms it seems in fact the person gained the underlying or originating issue not the diabetes was the indications are that the person gained the person.
The other way around and while losing weight it does not necessarily remove the predisposition for the diabetes may be the weight issue not necessarily remove the diabetes was the other words the solution new research the newer research the diabetes was the underlying or originating.

Type I Diabetes or Childhood Diabetes is caused from your Pancreas INABILITY to produce Natural Insulin, therefore Gastric Bypass would not be able to ‘Cure’ Type I Diabetes.

Unless you are a laboratory rat, there is no cure for type 1 diabetes.

No.
Type 1 Diabetes is caused by the fact that your pancreas has quit functioning. the only cure for this is a pancreas transplant.
Type 2 Diabetes is caused by a pancreas that IS functioning, but is overworked by being overweight. In this case weight loss, by any means, will help the problem. In some (not all) cases, sufficient weight loss will cure the problem. [In fact, the diabetes is not cured. The load on the sick pancreas is reduced and the pancreas can work normally again. But gain weight, and the disease returns.]
Unfortunately, after many years of Type 2 Diabetes, most diabetics find that their pancreas will fail, making them now Type 1 Diabetics (sounds like you). Unless transplant is an option, the only way to fight the disease is insulin injections and VERY TIGHT control of one’s weight. You cannot be slightly overweight — you MUST have the self-discipline to drop ANY extra weight.
The fact that you have highs and lows show that your diet is out of control. Again, self-discipline is the key. Ask you doctor to introduce you to a diabetic educator AND a nutritionist. Follow their orders, and your swings will stop.

gastric bypass doesn’t cure diabetes. once you’re diabetic, you’re diabetic for life. but it does make it so you don’t have to be on meds if you’re type 2. unfortunately, as everyone else has said…it won’t help type 1. plus you mentioned you’re slightly overweight. you have to be at least 100lbs overweight before they will consider it.
