Gastric Bypass Fruit Juice

November 30th, 2008 | by admin |

I had gastric bypass surgery and I was wondering if the natural sugar in vegetables are good or not?

I ask because you can have all fruits you want and 100% fruit juice but I do not remember if they said anything over the vegetables. As a small ear of corn contains 4 grams of sugar and I can not have only 5 at a time. So I wonder if it falls into the same category as the fruit. I say it does. Thank you

There are some restrictions on vegetables in the beginning, because the fibers, not so much sugar. Broccoli, corn and some skins vegetarians are not only difficult to digest, but with the small opening of the pocket of the bowel, a blockage can occur. You can have these vegetables, just be sure to over-cook them, then chewing, chew, and chew. As for sugar to go, if you manage fruit juice, you should have no problem with the sugars in the vegetables. Course the body of everyone has different tolerances, so remember to start slowly. I had my surgery three months ago and I have always careful with fruit juices and some fruit. Are you able to find jiuces fruit with less than 5 grams of sugar? I'm not. Good luck with your food choices.
