What is the recovery from gastric bypass like?

gastric bypass
Level Headed, I hope asked:

My mother had gastric bypass yesterday. I’ve been in the hospital with her almost non-stop. She is still very nausious, and she’s in ALOT of pain. Her shoulder is killing her from all the gas from the laproscopic surgery. I asked her doctor about her recovery and he said “every patient is different”. I know that, but if someone could share their story with me, I’d really appreciate it. She is supposed to be released tomorrow, but now they are saying there’s no way she’ll be up for going home tomorrow.
