Why is the military paying for Gastric bypass and cosmetic surgery?

Did you know your tax dollars are paying for overweight wives of servicemen to get Gastric bypass? They also pay for breast augmentation when the woman has no physical reason to receive them, i.e. health, accidents. I don’t find this appropriate. Do you? Why are we paying for this when the troops are the ones who need the money?
And yes, I do know the women who have had this done.
zebra fish you’re an idiot. the US gov is paying for their surgeries, not directly out your own pocket. if you want to date someone who doesn’t care for herself or her health and then take the option (surgery) other than hard work and everyone else has to pay for it, its not right.
First of all, the women i know are not morbidly obese in any matter. They are simply lazy and they aren’t getting this surgery to save their lives. Why is so honorable to sit at home without a job living off of the gov, its no different than the ideas of welfare. I do not in any way downgrade the sacrifices that military families make, my husband is in the corp so maybe you shouldn’t pass judgement either until you;ve met these fine ladies.
If you’re so worried that this issue is about cost incurred over the lifetime of an overweight person, they why not offer personal trainers and nutritionist instead of risky surgery that if the person doesn’t stay on a healthy diet, they just gain the weight back.

My life had weight problem its easy enough to have this surgery though and agree with weight the requirements as nonsmokers say oh just stop smoking but for obesity there are morbidly obese and got my tax dollars are real candidates and keeps popping out babies by different men right and meet all the requirements as.
